Chapter-3

Middle Game

It is better to learn from other people's mistakes than your own.
Never assume that a winning position will win itself.
Try to avoid opening variations which involve long, complicated variations or you may never even reach a playable middle game.
Don't rush forward with your pawns without good reason.
Opposite coloured bishops are often deadly in the middle game.

Way of thinking

The most important ability in Chess is not seeing ten moves ahead, but seeing the position which is right in front of you.
Do not calculate complicated lines before you are absolutely sure it is necessary.
If you can't understand what to do then try to know about the plans of your opponent.
Simply look at the board and search for new ideas.
First of all, calculate wide, not deep.
You should never think of main move without first seeing one simple line.

Technique of working on your own games

Without series study of the Chess Classics, it is not possible to become a proper Chess player.
Try to concentrate your attention on the strongest aspects of the outstanding Chess player whose games you have chosen to study.
It is frequently very important to understand which pieces should be exchanged and conversely which should not be exchanged.
Chess is played by a human being, a person who thinks, searches & struggles.
Mistake made in deliberating over moves rarely occur by chance. They give cause for reflection, since there is usually some reason behind them.
A man should aged to prevent his opponent's idea.
If one of your pieces stands badly, your whole game is bad.

In Middle Game

In a middle game with opposite color Bishops any attack is considerably sharper & defending is very difficult.
Do not calculate complicated lines before you are absolute sure it is necessary.
Chess is a game with great potential for depth, both in calculation & in strategic thinking.
